Day with Amy

awwwww.....

So the day with the ex ended up being a great time! There were no mean, inside-esque jokes, or I'm-better-than-you attitude. Things were a little reserved at first, the two of us being a little on guard. We went for lunch on Robson at Milestone's where we had some early afternoon belinis.

weeeee.....

We wondered around afterwards, did some shopping, walked down to the water, under Canada Place, ran into Kristal (weird), and back to the car. We decided that since the weather turned for the better, we would head to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, like we had wanted to weeks or months ago.

We (I) did a quick tour (lap) around Stanley park in the Bug, and made it to the bridge around 5. The place was dead, which was nice. It ended up being a great place, minus the outrageous entry fee! The grown up working stiff had to pay ~$26, while my student/bum status got me in for $18. We walked around and chatted with the staff about the US, politics, etc, and headed for the giftshop.

could be the coolest tree fort ever, but not yet

Here I tried one of each fudge flavour. It helps when there is a shift change between the two young counter girls. It helps when one is hitting on you too. It doesn't help when a girl comes over and distracts her. Stupid ex. Oh well. What am I gonna do, commute to North Van for some chick? I don't think so. We both left not really hungry, and I wanted to visit Steeps, so we headed back across the city and tried finding my favorite tea house. What a great place! It has a great atmosphere, and more tea than College Plaza. And more lattes, though I'll pass on the idea of a honeybush latte. It looked like a trendy resturant though, something like the Cactus Club. Here we tried a couple rounds of tea, and actually just talked like friends should. The usual ramblings of what to do in the up coming years, where we want to be, how everyone else seems to be getting married... blah. It was getting late, and we were geting hungry, so I chatted one last time to Brendan the owner of Steeps Co. I repeated the fact I loved Steeps, was unemployed, and I loved Steeps, took my bottles of chai and headed home.

home, sweet sorta home

I dropped her off, and made it home around 1am. I really enjoyed hanging out with her, but also realized I don't need to entertain the idea of getting back together again. I guess my tastes (or she) has changed over the years. It had been three years since I had last seen her, but we should be hanging out a few more times before she heads back to the land of ... umm.... America.

Also, I spent all day working on a new motor for my car! weeee!

mmmm.... high like a Surrey school girl

Hello Summer

mmm... creamsicles.
Well, it's official now. Summer is here. And in true BC style, it started raining today. Good timing and all too, as Rob and Michelle have just arrived in the home of liquid sunshine. I guess it's still better than being in Edmonton as of late.

no animals were fed dirt in the making of these pictures.
but I didn't say we didn't try.
they were just too smart to fall for that old trick.

Tomorrow I'm going for lunch with an ex-girlfriend I haven't seen in over two years. I have hardly even talked to her in that time either. Should be fun! At the very least, I get to make a trip in to Vancouver. And maybe have some sushi for lunch! Something I haven't done while being home. Strange eh? live in Edmonton, have sushi weekly. Live in BC and have none. I can't remember if she even likes sushi. I guess I could be shit out of luck.

and this guy tried giving me fashion advise today...

apparently I need new "grown up" shoes. I guess having no shoes in a brown or black color is a bad thing. what ever. and I also need new jeans. when you tell your dad that the ripped ones you are wearing are your best ones, it's time to maybe buy a new pair. but I love them, and will continue to wear them until there's nothing left. I shoulda told him he could sponsor a new pair...

some random shots from friday

indoor ski jumping, anyone?
no free dessert...
different, and free, dessert
no alcohol abuse on my watch

AHHH!!!

I lose it, Snap, quick...

A quick question to anyone who reads this. As soe of you know, I'm a pretty laid back guy. I never get mad at anyone, and rarely get upset at things. It tends to seem apathetic or lazy, but I just don't get boiled over on many things. So when I loaned my favorite hoodie to some girl at a party cause she's cold, and she returns it covered in axle grease from a truck, what should one do? And not just one spot. It's got it smeared all over it. Back. Front. Both sleeves. I looked like she used it to sit on on the semi-trailer, not just brushed by it like she said.
I kinda brushed it off though, but played sad to gain some sympathy and make her feel bad, which kinda seems worse than just loosing it. But I wish I had just lost it. I wouldn't be the one cleaning it and hoping it comes clean.
She said to get back to her on whether it comes out, but I hardly know her, she's a friend of a friend's brother. We'll see I guess. When she clued in to where it was from, she felt bad on her own and offered to pay for it if it doesn't wash out.

FYI, it's my lime green zip-up from LLL.

Batman Begins

I just got back from Batman Begins in IMAX. It is AWESOME! I still speechless. Not that it "moved" me or anything like that, it was just a great action movie. but there was a couple things that bugged me, and I'll keep to myself as to not ruin anything for you.

mmmm.... Katie fucking Holmes. I wish Ryan was there. That would have been a movie in itself.

Anyone up for watching the original sometime?

I still can't believe all this is happening... and why do I care? I should be supporting this kind of thing. That way when I'm old, I too can have some young thing on my side. Ditch the wife with the kids, run off to Paris with some cutie, and marry her. Yet I currently seem to have an issue with the idea of me dating a 19 year old... I guess you change when you hit 40+, eh Tom? But according to Tom, I shouldn't be worried about 19 year olds, I should be looking at the 9 years olds. gross.

my new place someday

check this out. I'd love to live in this, though it is a bit too modern/Ikea for me. Just imagine moving from roof top to roof top, alway having the penthouse, and it's always the same. You never have to pack your stuff to move, just leave it where it is, hire the helicopter, and away it goes.

I love the shower area, and that you water the plant with the flip through shower head.

all I need to own is a helicopter instead of a car for the "driveway". I ain't walkin' all those stairs all the time.

but will others follow?

no smoking, stinkyI only hope others take this on in their provinces. BC, you're doing alright. Alberta, you gotta get with the times and quit listening to that redneck Premier.

Ring tone is top British single
Crazy Frog Axel F, a song inspired by a cellphone ring tone, is the top British single.

This is the first time that a ring tone has crossed over to the singles chart and reached the No. 1 slot in Britain.

According to the Official UK Charts Co., which tracks both downloads and sales of CD singles, the song was the best-selling single for the week that ended on Sunday.

It knocked Lyla by Oasis from the top of the pops and prevented Speed of Sound, the new effort from Coldplay, from entering the chart at No. 1 – the popular group had to settle for the runner-up position.

here is a link to the video, just a sample. click!
Man, that would suck to be Oasis and Coldplay - beat out by essentially some internet remix of an 80's tune and a flash video. Now if could only find the video that the motor bike noises cam from.... I know I've seen it some where.
